The summer is a great time for family barbecues and get-togethers, and while the focus is on having a good time with family and friends, having good food on the table should also be a main concern of every good host. Barbecues are a pretty simple affair; you don’t need complicated setups, messy preparations, or hard-to-find ingredients. A good, old family barbecue may be the simplest gathering to set up, especially if you’re pressed for time. It also gives you the opportunity to bask in the summer sun with good company. Although a barbecue limits your options when it comes to the main dish, it gives you the opportunity to be creative when it comes to your sauces or garnishing.
This summer, combine the cool, refreshing taste of watermelons with the sweet and sour flavor of salsa with our Watermelon Summer Salsa—the perfect sauce for grilled meat. A powerful antioxidant, watermelon can help in preventing chronic illnesses like heart attack and stroke. Including watermelons in your diet also keeps cancer away because it contains lycopene and beta-carotene. So heat up that grill and start cooking!
